LA Clippers Trade Filip Petrusev to Sacramento Kings: Evaluating His Future with the Team

The Sacramento Kings have acquired forward Filip Petrusev and received cash in a trade with the LA Clippers. This move was made by the Clippers in order to maintain their roster flexibility. In the trade that brought Petrusev to the Clippers, he now has the opportunity to showcase his skills and be evaluated by the Kings to determine his future with the team. Currently, the Clippers have 13 players who are already signed to contracts. Petrusev, a Serbian player, was selected as the 50th overall pick in the 2021 draft. He initially signed with the Philadelphia 76ers in July and then made the jump to the NBA after playing professionally in Europe for two seasons. Petrusev’s contract still has two years left, and for this season, he is set to earn $1.1 million, with $560,000 of that being guaranteed. However, if he remains on the Kings’ roster until January 7th, the remaining balance will become guaranteed. Looking ahead, his salary for the 2024-25 season is non-guaranteed and amounts to $1.9 million.
