Jon Rahm, the third-ranked golfer globally, has opted out of participating in the inaugural season of the tech-infused golf league known as TGL. The league, spearheaded by Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy, is scheduled to commence in January at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. Rahm cited a lack of commitment as his reason for withdrawing from the league. TGL officials expressed disappointment but acknowledged and respected Rahm’s decision. They are now actively seeking a replacement for him on the roster. Informants divulged that Rahm’s choice was influenced by the extensive travel required to reach South Florida since he resides in Arizona.
Simultaneously, the Boston Common Golf franchise unveiled its complete roster, which includes world number two golfer Rory McIlroy, Keegan Bradley, Adam Scott, and Tyrrell Hatton. McIlroy conveyed his enthusiasm for joining the team and proudly representing Boston and New England. Fenway Sports Group, the owners of the Boston Red Sox, Liverpool F.C., and the Pittsburgh Penguins, also own the Boston franchise. The addition of these four highly skilled golfers is perceived as a substantial boost to the team’s potential for success in the league.
Other notable players who have recently signed with TGL teams are Justin Thomas, who will be competing for Atlanta Drive GC, and Collin Morikawa, who has affiliated with the Los Angeles Golf Club.
