In the latest College Football Playoff rankings, Ohio State has emerged as the top-ranked team with the highest likelihood of making it to the CFP, according to the Allstate Playoff Predictor. With a 79% chance, the Buckeyes are leading the pack. Following closely behind is Florida State, with a respectable 68% chance, while Michigan and Georgia stand at 50% and 41% respectively.
Unfortunately for Oklahoma, their loss to Kansas has dampened their chances of securing a playoff spot. However, if they manage to secure victory in the Big 12 title game, their chances bounce back up to 80%. Looking at the SEC, four teams are in contention for the playoffs: Georgia (41%), Alabama (29%), Ole Miss (6%), and LSU (5%). Despite their unbeaten record, Georgia finds themselves trailing one-loss teams in terms of strength of record.
Moving on to the Big Ten, Ohio State once again dominates with a 79% chance of making it to the CFP. Meanwhile, in the Pac-12, Oregon’s chances have doubled after a triumphant win against Utah. Florida State remains in second place behind Ohio State, with a commendable 68% chance of securing a playoff spot.
